Bhubaneswar, April 3, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to inclusion and neurodiversity, Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms – TPCODL, TPSODL, TPNODL and TPWODL – illuminated their offices in blue on April 2, marking World Autism Awareness Day and standing in solidarity with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

As part of Tata Power’s nationwide initiative to bring much-needed awareness about autism, key operational offices across Odisha were lit up in blue, the globally recognized colour symbolising autism awareness, acceptance, and support. This symbolic gesture aimed to spark conversations around neurodiversity, while reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to building an inclusive and empathetic ecosystem across its areas of operation.

The initiative in Odisha aligns with Tata Power’s broader philosophy of driving social impact alongside operational excellence. Across its distribution companies, the company has consistently integrated community engagement and awareness-building into its consumer outreach efforts, ensuring that social responsibility remains embedded in everyday operations.

Tata Power has been at the forefront of advancing neurodiversity awareness through its flagship ‘Pay Autention’ initiative: India’s first phygital autism support network – designed to empower caregivers, educators, and communities with tools for early identification, intervention, and support. The initiative brings together a wide ecosystem of partners and resources to improve access to care and foster inclusive participation.

A key pillar of this initiative is the E-Sanidhya portal, a digital platform that provides free access to expert-led resources, remote screening, consultations, and guidance for caregivers and families across geographies. The platform enables early identification and intervention, while bridging critical gaps in access to specialised care, particularly in underserved regions.

Further strengthening this support ecosystem, Tata Power- led Odisha Discoms also offer a dedicated toll-free autism helpline (1800 2099 488), providing interactive assistance and professional guidance to parents, caregivers, educators, and community workers, ensuring that help is accessible, timely, and inclusive.

The illumination activity also marked the beginning of a series of awareness-led engagements planned as part of Autism Awareness Month. These include internal sensitisation programmes, employee volunteering initiatives, and community-driven campaigns aimed at deepening understanding and encouraging inclusive behaviours at the grassroots level.

With Odisha emerging as a model for consumer-centric power distribution through sustained improvements in reliability, service delivery, and community engagement, Odisha Discoms continue to expand their role beyond electricity supply, positioning themselves as a responsible and inclusive partner in the state’s development journey.

Through such initiatives, Odisha Discoms reiterate their commitment to fostering a culture of empathy, awareness, and equal opportunity, ensuring that progress is both inclusive and sustainable.
