Bhubaneswar,swa news : Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, marked International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development by announcing its largest employee-led community outreach initiative. 1,800 employees dedicated 4,000 hours, equivalent to nearly 167days of service, positively impacting more than 7 lakh lives across its operational facilities in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh.
The movement reflects Vedanta’s philosophy of ‘Transforming Communities’, which is deeply embedded in Vedanta Aluminium’s culture. By fostering a spirit of volunteerism, the companyis driving a behavioural shift where employees actively participate, creating a multiplier effect on social impact. Employees stepped beyond their workspaces to lead transformative initiatives acrosshealthcare, education, livelihoods, environment, and women’s empowerment.From plantation drives and pond restoration to literacy sessions, skilling workshops, health camps, and blood donation drives, volunteers championed activities to create lasting social impact.

In Chhattisgarh’s Korba, women trained through livelihood programs have showcased their work at prestigious exhibitions, turning local skills into thriving enterprises. Mega health camps across Odisha and Chhattisgarh have strengthened local healthcare systems, delivering preventive care and awareness to thousands, significantly reducing disease burden in undeserved communities. In Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, digital learning and labs have been set up in schools, equipping youth with skills for today’s world. Together, theseinitiatives collectively drive holistic development across the operational regions.
