Bhubaneswar,swa news : The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great grandeur across KIIT, KISS, KIMS, KIIT Public School, and KIIT International School. At KISS campus, the celebration began with the flag hoisting by Prof. Debashis Bandyopadhyay, Vice-Chancellor of KISS University.
Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, extended his greetings and said that the overall development of the nation is possible only when tribal communities progress. He highlighted that KISS has been dedicated to the upliftment of tribal communities through education for over 33 years. Advising the students, Dr. Samanta urged them to study well, become good human beings, and bring glory to the nation.
At KIIT-DU, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh hoisted the national flag, while at KIIT International School, Chairperson Dr. Monalisa Bal did the honours. At KIMS, the flag was hoisted by Dr. CBK Mohanty, Pro-Vice Chancellor, KIIT.
The Independence Day programmes held across various campuses saw the presence of Prof. J R Mohanty, Registrar of KIIT University; Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, CEO of KISS; Dr. Sanjay Suar, Principal of KIIT International School; Dr. R. C Das, Principal of KIMS Medical College; along with faculty members, teachers, and students.
KISS students performed a parade followed by cultural presentations by the students. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweets among students and staff.
