Darlipali, Sundargarh :swa news : A Palli Sabha was successfully conducted on 22nd January 2026 at Darlipali Gram Panchayat, Sundargarh district, Odisha, in connection with the Forest Diversion proposal for the NTPC Darlipali Expansion Project involving the setting up of an additional unit of 1×800 MW capacity.
The meeting was held as part of the statutory requirements under the Forest Rights Act (FRA), 2006. The Palli Sabha was chaired by Sarpanch, Darlipali Gram Panchayat, and was attended by Block Development Officer, Lephripara, Tahasildar, Lephripara, Forester – Nuadihi, Darlipali Forest Right Committee members, NTPC officials and villagers of Darlipali.
During the meeting, NTPC representatives provided detailed information about the proposed expansion project and the requirement for forest land diversion. The villagers participated actively in the proceedings and shared their views and suggestions, including requests for additional developmental initiatives under NTPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.

NTPC officials apprised the gathering of the various developmental and welfare activities already undertaken by the company in Darlipali and surrounding villages. They reiterated NTPC’s commitment to inclusive growth and assured the community that such initiatives would continue in the future, in line with the company’s philosophy of sustainable development.
The Palli Sabha was conducted in a transparent and orderly manner, adhering to all applicable statutory guidelines.
