Bhubaneswar, 25thMarch 2026: As India observes International Women’s Month 2026, Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, has concluded a month-long series of community engagement and women-centric initiatives across its operational areas in Odisha. The activitiesranged from health and safety awareness sessions to cultural programmes and leadership recognitions, collectively reaching over 6,000 women, adolescent girlsand community members.
Some key initiatives across Vedanta Aluminium’s women outreachas part of the celebrations include:
- Lanjigarh (Odisha): Over 1,000 SHG women from ninegram panchayats participated in enterprise planning sessions with the District Industries Centre, leadership recognition for frontline health workers, cultural programmes, and storytelling sensitisation on the theme “Give to Gain.”
- Jharsuguda (Odisha): A weeklong celebration with the Subhalaxmi Cooperative brought together more than 2,000 women across five gram panchayats for interactive learning events, traditional games, community bonding activities, and recognition ceremonies with local leaders.
- Mines (Odisha): Across Kuraloi, Jamkhani and Ghogharpalli, over 3,000 community members engaged in participatory games, hygiene awareness activities, distribution of everyday essentials, and felicitation of frontline health workers.
