Bhubaneswar, swa news : A heartfelt tribute to motherhood and inspiration marked the release of Dr. Achyuta Samanta’s latest book ‘Mo Maa Mo Prerana’ at a special ceremony on Monday. Former Governor of Odisha Prof. Ganeshi Lal graced the event as the Chief Guest and unveiled the book. Five other publications were released on the occasion.

Prof. Ganeshi Lal, who had joined the Vice-President in releasing the English version of the book earlier, delivered an evocative address on the supremacy of motherhood. “No one is free from the three traits of nature, including ignorance. But it is the mother who guides us beyond them,” he said.

Reflecting on his years in Odisha, he added, “It is here that I understood the meaning of mother more deeply than ever before.”

He praised Dr. Samanta’s mother, saying, “She made profound sacrifices—like Devaki’s—as a mother bringing a Krishna to the world. Mother is indispensable. If you want to reach God, you must first honour your mother.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Samanta recalled an emotional moment from the past. “I remember when Prof. Ganeshi Lal, as Governor, once described me as someone coming from a different planet because of my work. His affection has always encouraged me,” he said.

On the occasion of Gita Jayanti and Ekadasi, Dr. Samanta noted that the book draws symbolic connection with the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and Lord Krishna in the form of a divine calf. He shared that while the Odia edition is not a literal translation of the English version, it contains deeper reflections and additional aspects of his life and inspiration. “I work hard because of the people’s love and affection. My mother always taught me that if I have done no wrong, I should fear no one,” he added. He also reiterated that KIIT and KISS have now become “custodians of Odisha and its people.”

In his presidential address Prof. Sashanka Chudamani spoke about the early struggling days of Dr. Samanta, which has aptly represented in the book.

Senior writer Rakshak Nayak described the book as “a blend of good and difficult times, filled with stories of courage and inspiration.”

Prof. Harekrishna Satapathy, eminent educationist reviewed the book, while noted journalist Umapada Bose and Jibanand Mishra, Prakashak of Vidyapuri were also spoke about the book.
