Burla |swa news : TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) has successfully settled over 5,400 electricity theft and assessment cases through the National Lok Adalat held across its licensed area in Western Odisha on 13th December 2025. The initiative saw active participation from consumers and strong coordination among TPWODL’s field offices, enforcement teams and administrative units, ensuring a smooth, transparent and time-bound settlement process.

The district-wise settlements included 1,261 cases in Bargarh, 1,186 in Bolangir, 721 in Sundergarh and Rourkela city, 679 in Kalahandi, 363 in Jharsuguda, 297 in Nuapada, 265 in Sambalpur, 227 in Sonepur and 87 cases in Deogarh district. The large-scale drive resulted in significant lawful recovery while strengthening trust between the utility and consumers.

To make the process easy and consumer-friendly, TPWODL organized advance registration and facilitation camps at all SDO and Section offices. These camps helped consumers complete documentation, understand the benefits of settlement and make payments at convenient locations. On-the-spot assistance ensured clarity on dues and quick legal closure, helping consumers avoid lengthy court cases and related costs.

The initiative once again reflects TPWODL’s commitment towards amicable dispute resolution, consumer convenience and transparent electricity distribution in Western Odisha.
