swa news : SBI Bhubaneswar Circle celebrated National Sports Day in Grand Manner from 29th August to 31st August 2025 to honor the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player. This day celebrates India’s rich sporting legacy and the achievements who have made the nation proud on Global platforms. It also marks the day when the Fit India Movement was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in 2019.
In this regard State Bank of India Bhubaneswar Circle organized sports events and felicitation of sports person at different centre. Some of the events as follows.
Rourkela: On dt.29.08.2025 a Hockey Match between Lakra Club and SBI organized at Panposh Hockey Stadium, Rourkela. we invited and felicitated Olympian hockey player Shri Lazrus Barla, veteran hockey player of Rourkela Shri Surendra Tigga, Cyprian Kerketta, Naiman Tirkey. More than More than 37 Hockey Player participate in this event.
Cuttack: On dt.29.08.2025At Satyabrata Stadium Cuttack 239 participants form SBI including Senior Citizens participated in different events like Yoga, Zumba, 100 mts race, 3 Kms Walk, Tug of War, Skipping etc.
Bhubaneswar: On dt.29.08.2025 at Administrative office, Unit-I Bhubaneswar more than 100 participants from SBI taken part in event like Box Cricket, Badminton etc. Apart from that Shri Prashant Kumar, DGM inaugurate a special play zone for Children at Administrative Office, Bhubaneswar.
Berhampur: On dt.29.08.2025 at Administrative office, Brahmanagar, Berhampur organized events like Badminton, Table Tensis, Chess, Carom etc. More than 130 State Bank employees of Berhampur centre participated in these events
Balasore: At Balasore Indore Stadium more than 44 participants participated in a Badminton tournament on 30.08.2025.
Aska: At Aska Stadium more than 50 participants participated in a Cricket Match tournament on 30.08.2025.
Puri: More than60 State Bank staff Participated in a Cricket Tournament on Sunday 31.08.2025 at Jagannath Stadium Puri. Shri Bharat Charan Sahu, Regional Manager Puri felicitate Shri Ramesh Chandra Sahoo national Kho Kho Player.
