Kalinganagar, March 19, 2026: Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) hosted the Trans Employee Sports 2025-26, a significant event designed to foster inclusion, diversity and competitive spirit within the organisation. The two-day championship saw 50 participants gather from various units, including TSK, Haldia, OMQ Division, West Bokaro, Jamshedpur, and Tata Steel Technical Services, to compete in a diverse programme of events. The sports conducted throughout the meet included Badminton (Singles, Doubles, and Reverse Singles), 8-a-side Football, and a range of Athletics events such as Shot Put, 100 mtr, 400 mtr, the 4×100 mtr Relay, and Tug of War.
The home team Tata Steel Kalinganagar, delivered a standout performance, particularly in the women’s athletics category. Athlete Kamli secured double gold for TSK, clinching first place in both the 100 mtr and 400 mtr Women’s sprints. The Kalinganagar football team also demonstrated exceptional teamwork, finishing as the Runner Up in the 8-a-side tournament. Further local success was found on the track and the court, with TSK earning third place in the 4x100m Relay and the Trans Women’s Badminton team securing the second runner-up position.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Mukul Vinayak Choudhuri (Chief Sports), Tata Steel, Capt. Manish Sinha, Head of Sports for TSJ & Outlocations, Rabindra Kumar Jamuda, President, Tata Steel Kalinganagar Workers Union, and Jagbandhu Mahanta, Secretary, Tata Steel Kalinganagar Workers Union, along with Ms Sumita Nupur.
