Bhubaneswar, swa news : Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale visited the campuses of KIIT and KISS on Saturday and interacted with students. Known for his trademark wit and rhyming oratory, the Minister lauded Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, for his pioneering efforts in transforming the lives of tribal communities through education.
Addressing a packed gathering of KISS students, Athawale said, “You do not have to ask for penance as you have got education in an institute founded by Dr Samanta. We have to take the Adivasi Samaj forward, not create animosity among them.” He highlighted that the tribal population constitutes a significant portion of India’s demography and stressed the importance of education in empowering them to build a stronger nation. “Achyuta Samanta has given you the opportunity of education; you have to strengthen the fabric of your society,” he said, encouraging them to pursue higher education and contribute to national development.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, expressed gratitude to the Minister for his inspiring words and for acknowledging the institute’s role in empowering tribal communities. “Ramdas Athawale ji has always stood for social justice and equality. His words today will motivate our students to dream big and serve society with compassion,” Dr. Samanta said.
Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU, welcomed the Minister, noting his significant contribution to public life and industrial development. His visit today is an inspiration for our students,” the Vice Chancellor said. KIIT Registrar Prof J R Mohanty and his KISS counterpart Prasanta Routray and senior functionaries were present on the occasion.
