Vedanta Aluminium’s  Jharsuguda Facility  Dispatches 1000th Fly Ash Rake Advancing Circular Economy Leadership

Bhubaneswar,swa news : Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, marked a significant sustainability and operational milestone with the dispatch of its 1000th fly ash rakefrom its Jharsuguda operations.This achievement underscores the company’s commitment to circular economy principles and responsible resource management.

Since launching its fly ash rake dispatch initiative in 2022, Vedanta Jharsuguda has supplied over 4 million tonnes of fly ash to cement manufacturers and infrastructure projects across India. This large-scale utilization supports the production of blended and green cement, reduces reliance on natural resources like limestone, and significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions associated with traditional cement manufacturing.

Speaking on the milestone, C Chandru, CEO, Vedanta Jharsuguda, said, “The dispatch of our 1000th fly ash rake reflects our strong commitment to sustainability backed by disciplined execution. Highlighting the partnership Tarun Ahuja, Head, Commodity and Purchase at Dalmia Cement, added, “The fly ash dispatch program has built a reliable supply chain for the cement and infrastructure sectors, while ensuring safe and scientific ash management. It has enhanced logistics efficiency and reduced environmental impact. This milestone shows the dedication of onground teams and seamless coordination with railways, logistics partners, and customers.”

By leveraging rail transport, the program reducesroad congestion and emissions, reinforcingthe company’s eco-friendly logistics approach.
