Vedanta Martial Arts Students Shine at the East Zone Karate Championship 2025

Jharsuguda,swa news : Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, celebratedthe outstanding performance of students from its Jharsuguda-based Vedanta Martial Arts TrainingCentre, who shone at the National Karate Federation (NKF), East Zone Karate Championship 2025 held at Birbhum Indoor Stadium, West Bengal. Demonstratingstrong discipline and sporting excellence, the young athletes secured12 medals, including 7 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals,placing Vedanta Martial Arts Centre among the top performers at the event.

Organised by NKF, the high-level tournament wassupported by the Physical Education Foundation of Indiain association with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports,Government of India. It drew participation from young sportspersons across eastern India, including Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar.

The medal winners from the Vedanta Martial Arts TrainingCentre includedIshmeet Singh (11) won 1 gold in Kata and 1 bronze in Kumite, Muktikant Nayak (16) who won3 gold medals in Kata, Kumite and Team Kata categories,Diptesh Sahu (19) whotook home 2goldsin Kumite andTeam Kata along with a silver in Kata, Sourav Das (16) whoclinched a silver medal in Kata and a bronze medal in Kumite, and Reddy Kamlesh Pradhan (9) who secured a silver in Kata and a bronze medal in Kumite.

The training and support that I have received at Vedanta Martial Arts Centre have made me believe more strongly in my abilities and taught me the true meaning of focus. I aim to work harder and represent my state and country at larger platforms in the future.”

Vedanta Aluminium’s Martial Arts Training Centre is an integral part of its community development initiatives across Jharsuguda, offering structured coaching in Karate, Taekwondo, and Grappling to more than 110 children, aged 10 and above. The program emphasizes building physical fitness, mental resilience and competitive skills.
