swa news : NTPC Darlipali commenced the Winter Workshop 2025 under its flagship Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) on Monday, with the participation of 120 girls from nearby rural schools.
The formal inaugural ceremony was held on 24th December 2025, Wednesday at the Konark Auditorium of the NTPC Darlipaliproject. Shri Faiz Taiyab, Head of Project (NTPC Darlipali), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Smt. Tajeen Jawed, President, Abhilasha Ladies Club, Darlipali, attended as the Guest of Honour. The event was also attended by Shri Ravindra Sharma, General Manager (O&M); Shri Radheshyam Maurya, General Manager (Maintenance & ADM); Heads of Departments, office bearers of various associations, the Principal of BBPS School, and the GEM girls.
As in previous years, the Girl Empowerment Mission has generated keen interest among parents. The current, winter workshop, is a follow up of the 4 week, Summer Workshop-2025, which featured the 120 Girls from multiple schools. This aims at the holistic development of the participants, apart from follow-up on the skills sets acquired during the summer session.
During the workshop, the girls will receive training in academic subjects along with life skills, soft skills, sports activities, and group exercises. The seven day program, culminating on 29th December 2025, shall feature, power packed events like, Christmas celebrations, Birthday celebrations, Sports activities, Sessions on Personal Health & Hygiene, apart from other recreational activities to enhance their enthusiasm and overall learning experience.
