‘Vartalap-2026’ Media Workshop Organised in Jamshedpur

The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Ranchi, under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, organised   “Vartalap-2026” Media Workshop in Jamshedpur today. The theme of the workshop was “12 Years of Trust, Development, Public Welfare, Farmers’ Empowerment and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.” Around 70 journalists from the district and adjoining areas participated in the programme. The objective of the workshop was to establish a meaningful and fact-based dialogue with the media on the Central Government’s public welfare schemes, farmer-centric initiatives and subjects related to the vision of Viksit Bharat.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the welcome of the dignitaries. Addressing the inaugural session, Shri Akhil Kumar Mishra, Additional Director General, PIB Ranchi/Bhubaneswar, said that continuous and meaningful interaction between the Government and the media strengthens the democratic system. He elaborated on the objectives and significance of the ‘Vartalap’ initiative and highlighted the vital role of the media in disseminating accurate and factual information about public welfare schemes to the people.

Shri Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Media and Communication Officer, Press Information Bureau, Ranchi, shared information on the major achievements of the Central Government over the past 12 years and the positive changes brought in the lives of common citizens through various public welfare schemes.

During the technical session, Shri Diwakar Kumar, Head of the Doordarshan News Unit, Jharkhand, and Assistant Director, described Drone Didi, Soil Health Card and modern agricultural technologies as significant initiatives towards empowering farmers. Shri Surendra Singh Munda, Senior Scientist (Agricultural Engineering), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, East Singhbhum, highlighted measures to enhance farmers’ income through scientific farming, new technologies and improved agricultural practices. Shri Gaurav Kumar Pushkar, Office Head, PIB Ranchi, provided information on journalists’ welfare schemes. Padma Shri awardee and senior journalist Shri Balbir Dutt emphasised the role of positive and responsible media in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat-2047. District Public Relations Officer Shri Panchanan Oraon shared his views on farmers’ welfare. Following the question-and-answer session, the workshop concluded with a vote of thanks. Ms Shivani Kumari Kesari, Young Professional, PIB Ranchi, made a presentation on the functioning of PIB. Information Assistant Prince Kumar, Young Professional Shivendra Nath Tiwari and other staff members of PIB Ranchi played an active role in the successful organization of the programme.
