swa news :NTPC Darlipali successfully concluded the GEM Winter Workshop–2025 under its flagship CSR initiative, Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM), on Monday, 29 December 2025, at the Konark Auditorium of the project. The programme was graced by Shri Faiz Taiyab, Head of Project, NTPC Darlipali, as the Chief Guest, and Smt. Tazeen Jawed, President, Abhilasha Ladies Club (Darlipali), as the Guest of Honour.
The event was attended by Shri Ravindra Sharma, General Manager (O&M); Shri Ipil Bage, General Manager (Operation& FM); Shri Radheshyam Maurya, General Manager (Maintenance & ADM) and department heads of Darlipali STPP, including office bearers of various associations. The program also saw the presence of headmasters of nearby schools and Sarpanch- Luising Gram Panchayat, in addition to theparents of the participating GEM students.
The week-long residential workshop covered 120 girls from 9 government schools located in villages surrounding the NTPC Darlipali project. The programspanned key areas such as foundational education, environmental awareness, health and hygiene, computer and art education, yoga, sports, and cultural activities, aiming at the holistic development of the participants.
As part of the initiative, 09 meritorious girls out of the total participants have been enrolled in Class VI at the BBPS School, NTPC Darlipali. NTPC shall bear all educational expenses of these students, including school fees, till the completion of their Class X education.
The GEM programme is one of NTPC’s flagship CSR initiatives, aimed at empowering girls studying in government schools through education and skill development, thereby creating better opportunities for their future.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants shared their experiences, expressing how the programme enhanced their self-confidence and motivated them to aspire for a brighter future. Through the Girl Empowerment Mission, NTPC Darlipali continues to demonstrate its strong commitment towards promoting empowerment, equality, and inclusive development within the community.
