Bhubaneswar, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi will hoist the national flag as the Chief Guest in the state level celebration of the 78th Independence Day to be celebrated in the Mahatma Gandhi Marg of Bhubaneswar. Regarding this Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of Information and public relations Dept. chaired a meeting today to review the preparation process in relation to the state level Independence Day celebration.
Independence Day is a matter of pride and emotion for every Indian. So, as per the direction of the Principal Secretary, this year “Odia Asmita” to be reflected as the theme of the multidimensional preparations of the I & PR dept for the state level celebration of 78th Independence Day to be celebrated in the Mahatma Gandhi Marg of Bhubaneswar. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Mohan Charan Majhi will grace the occasion as Chief Guest and will hoist the national flag. Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Majhi will felicitate various contingents and tableaux those had participated and declared winner in the state level celebration of Republic Day-2024. It was also decided in the meeting that on Independence Day Ramdhun to be played throughout the city and in public places like Parks, Bus Terminals etc. as Prabhat Pheri to evoke a sense of patriotism amongst people. The other preparatory measures like decorations of the venue, display of pictures of the freedom fighters of Odisha in Mahatma Gandhi Marga, seating arrangements, information dissemination and giving live feeds to the media etc were reviewed in detail by the Principal Secretary.
On the occasion of the Independence Day, various official buildings of the central and state governments, government enterprises and other major buildings will be illuminated. Shri Saroj Kumar Samal- Director, Shri Surendra Kumar Parida- Director (Technical) , Shri Santosh Kumar Dash – Additional Director, Shri Gurbir Singh – Joint Director, Smt. Sucheta Priyadhini- Deputy Director (Field) along with other officers of the dept. attended and participated in the meeting.
