TPWODL Ensures Uninterrupted Power Supply for World-Famous Dhanu Yatra in Bargarh

Bargarh,swa news :TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has undertaken several infrastructure strengthening works in Bargarh to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply during the world-famous Dhanu Yatra.

Dhanu Yatra, known as the largest open-air theatrical performance in the world. Keeping this in view, TPWODL proactively executed multiple network improvement and safety-related works in key locations to support smooth conduct of the festival.

Four electric poles were shifted from Gandhi Chowk to allow smooth crowd movement and better stage arrangements. Distribution Transformer (DTR) substations were relocated at George High School Field and Ambapali to ensure unobstructed festival activities and reliable power supply.

To support increased footfall and traffic, several poles were repositioned as part of road widening works. TPWODL also implemented an N-1 33 kV contingency arrangement for the Division Primary Substation, ensuring continuous power supply even during feeder contingencies.

Further, the company upgraded 11 kV feeder conductors to handle higher load demand, carried out cable conversion of bare LT lines, balanced loads across substations, and constructed boundary walls around DTR substations to enhance public safety.

These proactive initiatives underline TPWODL’s commitment to preserving Odisha’s rich cultural traditions while delivering safe, reliable and quality power, ensuring that Dhanu Yatra celebrations remain vibrant and uninterrupted.
