Vedanta Aluminium Celebrates International Day of Yoga Across its Operations in Odisha

Bhubaneswar; swa news : Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm and participation across its operations at Jharsuguda, Lanjigarh, Ghogharpalli, Kuraloi, Sijimali, and Jamkhani. In alignment with this year’s global theme- “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, the company hosted rejuvenating yoga sessions that brought together more than1000 employees, students, and community members, underscoring the importance of physical and mental well-being.

At Jharsuguda, a vibrant celebration saw employees and community members come together at two locations – Sarbahal High School and the Vedanta Meadows employee township. Expert trainers from Patanjali Yog Peeth, Brajrajnagar led a yoga session among the young students at Sarbahal High School. Meanwhile, the event at the township introduced employees and their family members to the benefits of yoga and mindfulness practices, receiving heartfelt appreciation for fostering a culture of collective wellness.

At Lanjigarh, the company hosted an event that brought together more than 300 employees, business partners, and community members in a shared commitment to holistic wellness. With collective enthusiasm and energy, participants embraced mindfulness and yoga, reinforcing Vedanta’s commitment to fostering well-being across its workforce and communities.

At Sijimali, more than 200 students from local government schools enthusiastically participated in yoga sessions led by employee volunteers. These sessions highlighted the importance of nurturing healthy habits among young minds.

The team at Ghogharpalli Coal Mines marked the day with 170 students and teachers from Government Upper Primary Schools in Mundherkhet and Bhograkachar. The event focused on spreading awareness about yoga’s benefits in building resilience and concentration in students.

At Kuraloi Coal Mines, a special community yoga event was organized, drawing more than 140 participants from nearby villages. The programme was graced by the presence of Panchayat Sarpanch, Mr. Sanatan Nayak, and focused on introducing traditional wellness practices to the community.

The Jamkhani Coal Mines initiated a 3-day campaign in line with guidelines from the Ministry of Coal. Beginning with awareness sessions and a wellness bootcamp, the celebrations culminated in a yoga session with over 50 participants, including employees and business partners.
