Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Has Inaugurated TPWODL’s New 33/11 KV AIS Power Sub-station (PSS) at Pokharasale, Jharsuguda

Burla/Jharsuguda, swa news : Strengthening power infrastructure in Western Odisha, TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) commissioned a new and dedicated 33/11 KV AIS Power Sub-station (PSS)at Pokharasale in Jharsuguda district.

The sub-station was inaugurated today by Shri Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, in the august presence ofShri Pradeep Purohit, Hon’ble MP, Bargarh; Shri Tankadhar Tripathy, Hon’ble MLA, Jharsuguda; Shri Chavan Kunal Motiram, IAS, District Magistrate & Collector, Jharsuguda; Shri Biswarajan Naik, CDO & EO, Zilla Parishad, Jharsuguda; and Mr. Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL. Senior officials of TPWODL were also present on the occasion.

Commissioned at an investment of nearly ₹11 crore, the new power sub-station will benefit over 5,000 consumers, including domestic and commercial consumers of Malidihi, Lariapali, Bairagidihi, Muapada, Rasdaga, Pokhrasale, Fardapada, Jagidihi, Jenapada, Lurdung, Amati, Bolna, Gadalpada, Jugiadihi and Jena Pada. Earlier, these areas were being supplied power from the Kolabira Power Sub-station.

The newly commissioned PSS is expected to significantly improve voltage profile, enhance reliability of power supply, and reduce restoration time in the region. Equipped with modern technology and robust safety systems, the facility has been developed to meet the growing energy demand while ensuring operational efficiency and improved consumer service.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, stated that the new power sub-station is a step towards digitalisation of the power grid in the state. He said that the inauguration of this modern facility will further strengthen power supply stability in nearby areas. Highlighting the collaboration between the Government of Odisha and Tata Power, he emphasised the government’s vision to develop more such digital and advanced power infrastructure. He also urged consumers to adopt rooftop solar systems under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and Odisha’s specific ULA (Utility-Led Aggregation) Model to avail benefits of central and state government subsidies.

Mr. Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL, delivered the welcome address, reiterating the company’s commitment to strengthening power infrastructure and enhancing consumer experience across Western Odisha. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Sushant Panda, Superintending Engineer, Sambalpur Electrical Circle.
