Bhubaneswar, January 24, 2024: Managing Director of SBI Foundation, Shri Sanjay Prakash, flagged off ‘SBI Sanjeevani’, a Mobile Medical Unit in Bhubaneswar today. The initiative is part of the CSR activities under the Foundation’s flagship program ‘Gram Seva’, being implemented in partnership with ‘Gram Vikas’, a Non-profit organization.
The Sanjeevani initiative aims to provide primary healthcare services at the doorsteps of rural communities in the Kalahandi District. The mobile medical unit will have a dedicated medical team comprising qualified nurse and support staff. The unit will reach the remote villages on a regular basis and organize camps for providing primary healthcare services.
Speaking at the event, Shri Sanjay Prakash said “SBI Foundation has always strived to contribute towards building a strong and developed rural India. Gram Seva is our key program in this direction, which is aimed towards bringing holistic development in the remote villages across the country. Today, I am much delighted to flag off the mobile medical unit that is set to cater the primary healthcare needs of the rural communities in Kalahandi District”.
Liby Johnson, Executive Director of Gram Vikas, highlighted, “This initiative will significantly benefit rural communities residing in the distant and remote areas of the district by addressing their primary healthcare needs regularly.”
